First Yoga Class or Meditation: My first yoga class was in 2013 at inpatient treatment for addiction. I couldn’t believe how relaxed I felt after that first Yoga experience. It left me in a state of complete relaxation.

Bio: After getting divorced and being in a career which was going nowhere, I started to ask myself some hard questions. Who am I? Why is my life unmanageable? What do I enjoy doing? What do I want to do with my life? How did I get in this position? Why am I here? Why can’t I concentrate on my loved ones and dreams?
The addiction that I tried to stop had become my master. I was spending every waking moment in obsession and compulsivity about getting my fix. Life became dark and hopeless. How dark it is before the dawn! I stopped making excuses and got to work on myself. After accepting myself as I was, I was now able to move forward into a new way of living. I became reachable and teachable. I started to invest in my recovery.
The next three years were filled with 12 step recovery meetings, self-care, yoga, and a transformational shamanic apprenticeship. Glimpsing this new way of living motivated me to become a yoga teacher and shaman. My passion is to help others on their unique journey of self discovery and wellbeing. Also, I realized that what holds a lot of people back is their belief’s about themselves. I have a passion for helping others on this journey called “Life.” That’s what makes me happiest in this world. To see a mind open up to the power of believing in oneself. To see human potential fully realized. To see the power of human love transcend any barrier and bear any burden.
The metaphysical and physical elements of yoga were instrumental in my personal transformation. I teach yoga to help others connect to their inner knowing. Sharing the practice of yoga keeps my heart, mind, and soul connected. To see others transform their lives through yoga keeps me coming back to teach.
