Bio: My yoga practice resides in awareness with a heart-centered intention. The holistic approach to asana practice focuses on how to incorporate these aspects in our daily practical living, with enhanced awareness to promote health, happiness and harmony. By weaving elements of Bhakti Yoga, which involves chanting and sound healing, and Raja Yoga, a self-inquiry meditation technique into my classes, alongside Yoga Asana, Acupressure, and Ayurveda, I aim to provide support for the physiological wellbeing and spiritual needs of each individual. I believe that by opening up a dialogue with our bodies, we can begin to nurture and care for our needs, allowing yoga to become a healing practice for the body, mind, and spirit.
I met my Guru, Amma, at 20 and traveled alongside her studying all aspects of Yoga, including Bhakti, Karma, Jana, and Raja. Her love and grace led me to complete my training for Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga in Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of Yoga. I have studied VortexHealing over the past 3 years as well as Ayurveda over the past year. I continue to further my education every day through continuous self-study and practice. I hope to share the teaching of yoga as they have been passed down to me – with joy and a devoted passion.
